Our Team

Dr. McGarel immigrated to Austin from South Africa in 2000 and moved to College Station shortly thereafter to pursue an undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University. After graduation, she moved to Houston, where she managed a small animal hospital and boarding facility. It didn’t take long for her to realize that she was meant to be a veterinarian, so she completed the prerequisites at the University of Houston and then returned to College Station to attend veterinary school.

Her professional interests include nutrition and weight coaching for cats, feline behavior, internal medicine, and end-of-life care (hospice).

When Dr. McGarel is off the clock, you can find her training her adventure kittens, Andie and Aiden, gardening and cooking with her sweet tuxedo cat, Lizzy, or hiking and camping with her 4-year old mini panther, Matt.

Kelsey is currently a vet student at Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She studied Animal Science and Equine Science as an undergraduate at Texas A&M, and came from a small town in Texas called Waskom. While her current career path is mixed animal medicine, she has grown up with several cats, and has two of her own!

Victoria is a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie class of 2021 and is currently a graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences program at Texas A&M University. She is from El Paso, Tx, and is an aspiring veterinarian. On her off time, she enjoys nature walks and hanging out with her very energetic puppy.
